BRTC Musketeers Tennis Hot Shots
The Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre (BRTC) Musketeers Tennis Hot Shots project has been developed as a comprehensive, engaging pathway for junior tennis development. Drawing inspiration from the Three Musketeers, this program creates clear progression stages that children and parents can easily identify with, while providing a structured approach to tennis skill development.
Boys Pathway - The Musketeers
1. Blue Stage (3-5 years) - D’Artagnan’s Beginners
- Named after the youngest and most enthusiastic musketeer
- Focus on basic motor skills and introduction to tennis
2. Red Balls (5-8 years) - Porthos’ Power Players
- Named after the strong and energetic Porthos
- Development of fundamental tennis skills with red balls
3. Orange Balls (8-10 years) - Aramis’ Tacticians
- Named after the strategic and intelligent Aramis
- Focus on tactical awareness and technical development
4. Green Balls (10-12 years) - Athos’ Warrior
- Named after the experienced leader Athos
- Advanced skills and preparation for full court play
5. Junior Squad (12+ years) - Master Musketeers Squad
- The elite group representing “All for one and one for all”
- Competition preparation and advanced training
Girls Pathway - The Queen’s Guard
1. Blue Stage (3-5 years) - Constance’s Court
- Named after Constance, a caring and courageous role model from the Musketeers' world
- Focus on basic motor skills and introduction to tennis
2. Red Balls (5-8 years) - Milady’s Challengers
- Named after the formidable and skilled character
- Development of fundamental tennis skills with red balls
3. Orange Balls (8-10 years) - Anne’s Aces
- Named after Queen Anne of Austria
- Focus on tactical awareness and technical development
4. Green Balls (10-12 years) - Sylvie’s Stars
- Named after a strong female character from the musketeer universe
- Advanced skills and preparation for full court play
5. Junior Squad (12+ years) - Royal Ladies Squad
- The elite group representing female excellence in tennis
- Competition preparation and advanced training
